Celebrating Autumn with Blue + White

I love to use traditional items that compliment my passion for Blue + White to celebrate the season. When I discovered a DIY technique to create indigo blue marbled pumpkins by Alice and Lois, I was inspired to give it a try. The result is a fresh + stylish twist to Autumn Decor.
Do It Yourself Supplies – Assorted White Artificial Pumpkins from Factory Direct Craft , two bottles of O.P.I Indigo Nail Polish, wooden sticks, and one Plastic Container.
Step One – Fill 1/2 of the plastic container with lukewarm water and add several drops of the nail polish.
Step Two – Take a pumpkin and dip it into the container, swirl the pumpkin to create a beautiful design. Allow the pumpkins to dry on newspaper for 20 minutes, then turn the pumpkins over to dry the opposite side.
Tidy Tip – I opted to try white artificial and real white pumpkins for this project. I discovered that the I prefer the appearance of the marbled application on the artificial pumpkins. The smooth exterior of the real white pumpkins did not adhere as well as the rougher texture of the artificial pumpkins.
Family Affair – What made this DIY Project so special to me is that my daughter enjoyed it as much as I did. I am one proud Momma Bird!
Wishing you a fabulous Autumn!
Xoxo,
Leslie
