As homeowners discover the benefits of refined organized style, the trend “less is more” is growing in popularity.  As a professional organizer and lifestyle expert, I have noticed a trend with homeowners to downsize from large homes for a number of reasons.

TOP REASONS WHY DOWNSIZING IS APPEALING

These are reasons why homeowners are marketing the move to “less is more” when it comes to square footage.

1.  Children leaving the nest is always a catalyst for change.
2.  The opportunity to live stress-free in a smaller home is appealing for many homeowners.
3. Less maintenance and expenses equals more time to ‘stay and play’ or conveniently ‘lock and leave’ for travelers.

Downsizing isn’t just a national trend, but a personal decision I made with my family last year.  My family and I realized we had a house with unused rooms, which felt unnecessary.  We found a new house that met our needs with just the right amount of room.  To make the house our home we started extensive renovations to create a fresh new decor.

 

 

 

I believe organized design should be stylish and functional.  When we eliminate clutter, we honor our home by creating a sanctuary that radiates pride, serenity, joy, relaxation, and comfort.  An organized home allows the benefits of “less is more.”
